I am trying to setup Linux Mint Cinnamon. I have it working in VirtualBox, no problem. Working under Windows 10. I had to fiddle with the network connection setup in VB, but no real problem. So then I tried installing on my server testing was done on my workstation. I went straight for a dual boot setup, Windows 10 has 1 disc and Mint has its own disc, I switch by using the Bios boot order... no problem. Both Windows and Mint come up fine. But Mint has no clue about the Wif-Fi dongle. According to Windows Device Manager it is a Realtek 8811CU. I have an installation disc for it with "PC-Linux" software on it, but I have not been able to use it, I am mystified by all the errors that happen when I execute the " on the CDROM. I guess it is trying to compile the driver and can't do it on the CDROM being readonly, I assume. So I am at a loss as to how to proceed. From looking around the forum, I see mention of dongles that "just work". But have not been able to find recommendations. They are cheap enough, I would be willing to buy something that just worked. Any ideas or suggestions? I had to put the server back online, so I have somewhat limited time on it for testing. I guess I am not the only one having this problem. Even Windows didn't have the driver automatically, but at least the Windows setup worked and installed the driver. At any rate, I can't really do what was done in that article you found, as it like many other solutions require a wired network connection. And I don't have anything close to that. My server does have an Ethernet jack, but no way to get a cable to plug into it at least not one that is easy and cheap. I did some further looking around, and it seems that many people are having difficulty with AC type dongles. And I did find a recommendation for the Panda dongles, saying that they were reasonably priced and plug-n-play. So I ordered one online and that should get me off the dime. I did notice that many so-called wifi dongles claimed Linux compatibility, but were not actually plug-n-play. One that I found that really touted their Linux compatibility had loads of complaints from customers about how hard it was to get their product operational. In my book, if I have to compile 4 year old driver code off a CDROM - it is not Linux compatible. Just my 2 cents.

山野下 已于 2022-02-24 084921 修改 11201 收藏 16 于 2021-10-24 202727 首次发布 版权声明：本文为博主原创文章，遵循 CC BY-SA 版权协议，转载请附上原文出处链接和本声明。 关于网络适配器realtek 8821ce wireless lan 提示：并不适用于所有出现该问题的电脑，本次针对的电脑是win10系统，其他系统并没有测试过。 参考1： 参考2： 文章目录 关于网络适配器realtek 8821ce wireless lan 前言 在今天上实验课的时候，有一位同学说，电脑上不了网了，点电脑的WIFI按钮只能看到一个飞行模式和一个打开网络和Internet设置，当时出于好奇，想着到底是啥样的问题会出现这种现象呢？于是赶紧把实验做完，提前下课去looklook，看到好像是网络适配器出了问题，我好像不会呀，于是去查了很多资料，各种博客、论坛某乎等等，还问了一些大佬，结合上面的参考资料，终于解决了这个问题。 一、问题出在哪了？ 只是看到了网络适配器出现了黄色的感叹号，而且最致命的地方在与无法通过磁盘手动更新驱动，而且无限网卡或者是手机移动数据共享也用不了，那么问题出在哪里呢？ 看了大佬的解释加上本人的猜测，是因为注册表的驱动信息没有更新，也就是说注册表中的网卡驱动是旧的，我们想要通过网络上下载的驱动来更新会于注册表产生冲突，所以每次用U盘手动更新都会失败，应该是这样的，由于问题解决了，所以没有机继续研究下去，要是哪里有问题的话劳烦各位大佬评论区指正一哈~ 二、解决 可以安装注册表清理工具CCleaner，使用该工具进行注册表清理，这是一个免安装的工具，下载解压之后就可以使用，非常感谢写参考二的大佬，工具下载链接也是从那里拿的，不是本人的工具。 链接： 提取码：oc4z 安装好之后打开，然后按照下图箭头1、2、3的步骤一个一个点就好了，弄好之后重启在此查看设备管理器-网络适配器。 提示：修复选定问题的时候会提示备份注册表的，而且也只是清理部分的注册表，所以不用很担心~ 其实也可以自己手动备份注册表的： win + R键，输入regedit，回车，在左上角 “文件”选择 “导出为”，导出为注册表文件到硬盘即可。 若是解决了问题，那么恭喜你，要是问题还没有解决，可以试试再用U盘/移动硬盘下载一个驱动（网上资源还挺多的，我只下了网络适配器realtek 8821ce wireless lan 要是还没有解决问题，估计需要查更多的资料或者试试返厂维修。 总结（可忽略） 解决问题也是一种很棒的学习过程，虽然过程可能有点麻烦，但是解决之后是很舒服的，加油！

However sometimes it's not connected at startup, and sometimes I can unplug it and plug it back in to reconnect, while other times only a restart will get it working. And sometimes it will show available networks but not connect, and other times it won't even let me turn WiFi on. All very strange and inconsistent behaviour. And the adaptor worked at first without installing the driver from the CD it came with, but after the first time it stopped working I installed the driver, and now it doesn't seem to work without it. The other issue I am having which seems to be related is that shutting down or restarting the computer usually results in a blue screen with the Stop Code DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Doing some Googling led to me updating my graphics driver, which seemed to fix it the first time, but then it has continued to happen regularly. One thing that sometimes fixes it, although isn't alway necessary, is closing the Realtek application from the taskbar. And sometimes shutting down takes a long time, but I don't get the blue screen, just my monitors going to sleep shortly after clicking shut down, but then it restarts, presumably because it runs into some problem maybe the same thing. Again inconsistent behaviour. So, can anyone point me in the right direction for fixing this, or offer any suggestions? Please let me know if you need any more information or if there's anything I should add to my fake signature below. While WiFi dongles are pretty darned reliable, they, like all things, can and do have "lemons" or failures. Also make sure you match whatever you buy to have capabilities at least as good as your current router does so that you can maximize your throughput. I uninstalled the software and driver for the original adapter before plugging in and installing the software for the new one, but from the start it couldn't 'see' my 5Ghz network, so I connected to the which was extremely slow. As in YouTube videos were choppy at 360p and wouldn't run. I tried restarting and giving it a chance, but then gave up and went back to the old one. The latest with that is that it still cuts out eventually, although seemingly not as quickly as it used to, and the computer restarts and shuts down normally most of the time. It certainly sounds as though it is not. Just as an aside, when it comes to external hardware that requires or is likely better equipped to function with a driver other than what's already in Windows, I strongly suggest installing that driver software before ever plugging in the device for the first time. Most OEM instructions state that this should be the order as well. The replacement adapter is an EDUP Dual Band WiFi USB Adapter and I double checked on the computer that it was dual band. It also showed the neighbours 5Ghz network, just not mine. And yes I thought that should have been the case as well, but the instructions actually said to do it the way I did. Also, if the software includes a "control module" from the maker for the dongle where you'd get an icon in the system tray or overflow notification area, these very often give you more information about what the device "can see" than Windows does. This device certainly should be able to see both 5GHz and networks. I will say, though, that in my experience 5GHz networks are far less robust as far as signal strength as distance from the access point increases. I stopped using them in my household because I got a more consistent and generally faster, as a result signal on the network. If it still doesn't see the 5GHz network try moving closer to your access point just to test to see if it eventually shows up. Every WiFi card or dongle seems to have it's own level of sensitivity to signal strength and, in fact, there are settings related to same. At the moment the original dongle is working quite well, although not perfect, and so I am sticking with it. But if I run into more problems I will try doing a full uninstall and reinstall of the new device's software before plugging it in, and see if that makes a difference. Wifi wouldn't work, after a few minutes heavy packet losses, most times only recoverable through restarts or adapter deactivation-activation efforts. Therefore Read forums, tried out with countless restarts, off course - Original drivers from - different usb slots - group policy automatic diver update deactived - Energy savings deactivated within driver configuration as well as system policy for usb devices and wireless adapters Wifi worked perfectly with previous setup old router as repeater and connected to ethernet port as well as with all other devices in the household. Only thing that worked finally limit device to wireless mode IEEE 11 Mbit/s. I assume the chipset itself is glitchy since many people report that problem. Уже более года пользуюсь fanless мини компьютером с пассивной системой охлаждения от Hystou на Core i5. Компьютером я очень доволен, по прошествии времени он все так же хорошо работает и полностью удовлетворяет мои запросы. Вот кстати обзор, если кому интересно. Чуть ли не единственным минусом для меня изначально был слабенький WiFi модуль и отсутствие поддержки стандарта ac. В компьютере установлен комбинированный WiFi + Bluetooth модуль Broadcom BCM94313HMGB, который подключен через PCI-E. Он работает только в диапазоне 2,4Ghz, да и к тому же обладает не лучшей чувствительностью, в соседней комнате уже заметно падает скорость. И это даже не смотря на выносные антенны. В общем я тогда подумал, что временно попользуюсь им, а потом прикуплю что-то с поддержкой ac на али, благо выбрать есть из чего. Но как известно, нет ничего более постоянного, чем временное. На покупку натолкнул меня мой друг, который очень хвалил этот адаптер. Цена вопроса оказалась всего $5, поэтому я не раздумывая заказал. Wifi адаптер находится в прозрачной упаковке. Внутри есть картонный вкладыш, на котором указано, что он поддерживает стандарт IEEE и может работать в двух диапазонах 2,4Ghz/5Ghz. Указана скорость 600 обратной стороне уже можно прочитать подробные характеристики и здесь становится ясно, откуда цифра 600 Mbps. Китайцы просто сложили скорости в двух диапазонах Если в отдельности, то в стандарте AC скорость будет до 433 Mbps, а в стандарте N — до 150 Mbps. Внутри картонной вкладки я обнаружил mini CD нем оказались драйвера для Windows, Mac OS и Linux. Скорее всего, драйвера нужны для старых компьютеров на Windows XP, возможно, Windows 7. На Windows 10 ничего устанавливать не нужно, драйвера встали на диске есть пользовательская инструкция в PDF, а чтобы ее открыть, в комплекте есть Adobe адаптер миниатюрных размеров, раза в 3 меньше обычной usb флешки. На корпусе есть значок WiFi и крупный логотип AC. Небольшой синий светодиод просвечивает корпус и показывает работу устройства — при активности сети он обратной стороны ничего длина — 2,9 добрую половину занимает сам разъем, если его вставить в ноутбук или компьютер, то выступать будет всего на 1,6 см. Для стационарного компьютера это конечно значения никакого не имеет, но в ноутбуках — чем меньше, тем подключении в компьютер определяется как Realtek 8811CUНу и собственно то, ради чего брал — скорость. Компьютер у меня находится в соседней от роутера комнате и из-за стены скорость немного падает. На старом WiFi модуле максимально я мог получить 45 — 48 Mbps. И это максимум. Часто каналы пересекаются с соседскими и скорость падает до 20 — 25 Mbps. Это, конечно, непотребство, особенно если учесть, что у меня тарифный план до 200 Mbps и современный двухдиапазонный маршрутизатор Mi Router 4. В диапазоне 5 Ghz ни единой души, все каналы свободные. В общем, подключаю адаптер и провожу еще раз тест скорости — 168 Mbps. Скорость выросла минимум в 3,5 раза, а соединение стало более стабильным. Теперь мне не мешают соседи, и я могу пользоваться преимуществами своего тарифного плана На сегодняшний день я пользуюсь адаптером уже 3 недели и за время использования у меня не возникло никаких замечаний. В общем получил ровным счетом то, на что рассчитывал. Теперь еще на компьютере и разъем PCI-E так он выглядит в компьютере рядом адаптер побольше, это от беспроводной мышки + клавыСегодня заказал еще один для старенького ноутбука, не помешает и пенсионеру» научиться быстро качать торренты Покупал WiFi адаптер я на Aliexpress за $5. Продавец надежный с рейтингом 98,2%, заказов именно этого адаптера у него уже 865 и из них только 1 негативная оценка. В общем, рекомендую.
